Joshua Trachtenberg joined the Department of Neurobiology as an Assistant Professor in July of 2003. His research focuses on understanding the cellular and circuit-wide mechanisms that underlie the acquisition and consolidation of memories in the cortex. Prior to joining the UCLA faculty, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and at the University of California, San Francisco. He received his Ph.D. in developmental neurobiology at the University of Texas at Austin and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandeis University.
